Crescent Comfort

Metal: Silver
Weight approx: 75g
Body Height:58mm
Body Width: 93mm
Length of chain: 640mm

One of my first pieces of jewellery that I feel began to show actual thought and logic. This piece was aimed at overcoming many design flaws of jewellery pieces in particularly those of necklaces. This includes such issues as weight, comfort and length of chain appropriate for weight of pendent. In this case, the pendant was very heavy, thus a longer chain was used. Similarly, no extruding pokey bits or sharp edges are incorporated and this allows for extra comfort when worn. The design itself is inspired by Egyptian collars and chest plates that have been repeated throughout history. The centre of the piece is a labradorite stone. The rectangular links of the chains are all formed by hand.
