This piece began with no clear cut concept. It began with exploring the possibility of creating movement through the placement of 3 copper plates. However on completing this base plate, I felt that the piece lacked excitement and life. I thought to give the piece life by directly representing it as a miniature world waking up in the morning. Thus the copper plate came to represent the ground upon which dew (resin) covered jasmine leaves and fox tail fronds are found.
